RE: Always put on a clean white t-shirt..............

Everytime....everytime and they don't even have to be white. Just any shirt without a stain already on it!

RE: 05 HR Savoy Leak

Hmm, I never had any problems getting warranty work done, some minor issues. Have now had it for almost 4 years (bought 8/04) and have had no serious issues. Dealer and HR have been very responsive. HR even went so far as to fix one issue after the warranty period had been up for six months.

RE: Getting anode rod to not leak

I had this same issue with a previous trailer. What I noticed was that the threads on the fitting in the tank were corroded with what appeared to hard water deposits. These deposits didn't allow the anode rod to be fully threaded into place. I found a tap, screwed it in and cleaned out the deposits. Put a couple wraps of teflon tape on the anode rod, threaded in, problem solved.

RE: costly mistake. 5 wheelers please read.

Pull test every time I hook up every since I have owned a 5'r (11 years plus). I have never dropped a 5'r either. So easy to do and only takes a few seconds. The pull test is by far the cheapest insurance!

RE: saw some people who need this forum

A slider hitch is not always needed for a shortbed truck. Towed for years without a slider hitcher with a shortbed truck and never had any issues. 5'r had an extended pin.

RE: CPAP

I had a 1750 watt invertor installed along with 2 6 volt batteries. I have added 2 more 6 volt batteries since then for a total of 4. I could have gotten along with alot less since the 400 watt invertor I already had would run the cpap machine but not the humidifier. I would just run an extension cord from where the invertor would plug in to the DC outlet to my cpap. I did try it and found that the dry air being forced on me wasn't that pleasent and woke with sore sinus's. Also I can use the invertor for a variety of other uses along with all the amps my batts supply. I will admit though that much of what I did I had been wanting to do anyways, now I just had a good excuse. :) As others have stated you could get by with much less...

RE: RV Traffic on Highways down

Didn't notice as many rv's on the roads around these parts either, although there were rv's on the roads. While the forest service campgrounds did fill up (we were boondocking in the area) over 80% were tents. This used to be almost reversed until the last couple years.

RE: July 1st another stupid, ill thought out California Law!

Keep this in mind when driving your RV in California, minding your own business, and your cell phone rings. The new law of the land is here! You'll still be able to rear end another car while typing a text message using both hands...you can still dial the cell phone while drifting from lane to lane, you can also lay your phone on your lap using it as a speaker phone...but don't for God's sake dare hold it to your ear! Because if the police spot you on their way to a cell phone caused accident, they'll stop long enough to issue you a citation. Because the $25.00 fine you may be hit with could quickly balloon up to $150.00 with additional fines and court levies! And as you may know, our State is nearly bankrupt thanks to "I'll balance the budget" Spendennegger, I mean Schwarzenegger!
This well thought out bill is thanks to State Sen. Joe Simitian (send your cards and letters.....) despite 5 surveys by insurance companies and experts stating that the actual act of talking on a cell phone is the #1 cause of distracted driver accidents...not dialing. And using the text messaging feature is currently approaching the #1 reason for accidents among 18 to 25 yo drivers! Oh well, yet another reason to really wonder about California's future! :B
The preceding is a rant from a 55 year old Native Californian resident, so I'm allowed to rant every 20 or 30 years or so! :W
You are correct sir, not very well thought out. A well thought out law would have required you to pull over to talk on the phone. That bluetooth device stuck in your ear doesn't make talking on the phone and driving any safer. JMHO

RE: Washing your rig before a trip??

I wash everything in the driveway after every trip. I don't get black streaks so I don't worry about those anymore. Before the trip I only wash the truck since the trailer has only sat in the driveway it is only a little dusty, although I may wash a bird dropping or two off if I have been the victem of a "flyby."

RE: NCIS vs AI

And if the red head on Miami CSI is gone, I might start watching that show.
Me too. He has to be the worst actor on television. Other than him, I like the show.
Dang, I missed Ziva in a bikini! And she was pudgy? I don't believe it!

RE: NCIS vs AI

NCIS loses me every year to AI when they take the two months over over the holidays and run nothing but reruns. I used to be a big fan of NCIS. I think they all make a big mistake not taping enough shows to run during the holiday season. And it's not just NCIS, but all the shows are like that. They (the networks) need to rethink just how long they need to take off.

RE: Okay -- American Idol

Glad DC won. I got through about 10 times to vote. He looked as suprised as I felt. DA was very gracious and didn't appear to cry like I thought he would. Good luck to DC, DA and all of the top 10!
And what was with Amanda. While not one of her fans, would it hurt her to crack a smile. She just looked po'd the whole time. Maybe she was make they wouldn't let her wear a dress. I even think she forgot her words to the one song they were all singing, all she did was mumble something unintelligible.
I like Jason, but it is a stretch for him to sing anything but folk music.
And I could have done without that freakshow in the cape and marching band that was given his 2 minutes of fame (or torture to me, waterboarding has nothing on that guys singing!).

RE: Okay -- American Idol

DA will likely win because of the bubblegum brigade. DC will go on to stardom while DA ends up recording an album that goes nowhere (soul patrol ring a bell). DA's father will be his downfall. Actually I was glad to hear DC sing a 3rd song that he hadn't done before. Singing the same song that you have sung before is like "jumping the shark." Sadly I think DA is just plain boring to listen to.

RE: Okay -- American Idol

David A., boring, good voice, but boring. Will likely win because of 12 million bubble gum chewers. He would make an excellent gospel singer.
David C., best shot to well after the show in rock music and possibly broadway since he has that in his past also..
Syesha, when she gets voted off next week she should shoot for broadway. She was at her best a couple weeks ago.
Jason, leaves tonight. Good folk singer though. Just don't know what the hekk he was trying to do with "I Shot the Sheriff." Maybe he was just securing his departure. hmmmmm

RE: Saturday night Nascar at Richmond

I am sure Hamlin was told to stop on the track to force the yellow flag. Aren't Busch and Hamlin teammates? Hamlin was also held for 2 laps for that stop and go incident. Plus it appears to me that Jr. should not have come down so far on Kyle. We all know that Jrs. car was not handling well to begin with, which is why he was running the higher line and not the bottom of the turn, so he should have never put himself in that position. And I also believe that Kyle would have made a clean pass, or spun himself out, if Jr. had not came down so tight. I am not a fan of niether driver and it appeared to be a part of racing to me. Of course, unlike the fans in the stands, we all had the privelidge of multiple replays from different angles. Would any other driver out there, given the bottom of the track, attempt to pass, I think so.
And sadly, my guy started 9th and finished 11th. :(

RE: Anybody Canceling Trips Because Of Fuel Prices?

Yes we have changed our plans, not canceling though. Instead of going to one of our favorite campgrounds in Oregon we decided to spend the gas money and go somewhere we haven't been before. Still in Oregon though. Remainder of year will be spent as years past, forest service campgrounds or boondocking. We might slip a trip in Oct., but that's yet to be seen.
